Dave and Suzanne Whitney

Welcome to our life! We have so many interests that it is sometimes difficult to keep current with them all. Our dogs and hiking come first on the list, but flying, scuba diving, traveling and creating new, original things certainly ranks high on the list also. Our log home nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains acts as our base for adventure, and we feel fortunate to live here among the incredible scenery and wildlife. Flying rescue dogs has become a passion of mine, and every spare cent goes that way.

Banjo and Simba

Banjo and Simba fill our lives with unconditional love and inspire us to be better in everything we do. They are both rescue dogs that we flew from shelters where they were to be euthanised, to rescue organizations where they would be safe. Each was put up for adoption after they regained their health, but there was no interest. So...since we already knew they were great dogs, we adopted them both.

Simba was found in Louisiana with his other siblings after having his ears mutilated with a box cutter by his owner. We flew the whole family to safety here in Colorado after the owner went to prison. We adopted him a month later and never looked back.
Banjo was found in a Joplin shelter, laying in a cage with a crushed pelvis. We flew him to Denver, where New Hope Cattledog Rescue paid for his extensive surgery. Months later, he was put up for adoption, but there was no interest. He promptly joined our family, and he is the perfect companion for Simba!
